Contributing to JAXX |
From JAXXWiki
As the JAXX team is currently more of a, well... JAXX guy, I would greatly appreciate any assistance you care to offer. Here's how you can help:
Contents |
Source code repository
JAXX's source code is managed in a Subversion repository at SourceForge. To access the latest developer snapshot, see the Subversion info page under the JAXX project. Anyone can access JAXX's source code, but to modify it you will need to be made a developer. Contact Ethan if you are interested in becoming a JAXX developer.
Work on the web site
jaxxframework.org is a wiki, which means anyone can edit pages or even create new pages. If you find something that could be worded better, needs further explanation, or is altogether not covered, use the "edit" link at the top of the page and fix it. Be bold!
Related projects
The Related projects page has some ideas for JAXX-related projects. They're all good ideas, but unfortunately I just don't have time to do them... so if you want any of them done, we need your help!
These projects are particularly nice because they don't involve working on the JAXX codebase itself, so they're easier to pick up. Anybody with a decent knowledge of Java and Swing should be able to help. You may have to become familiar with JAXX's internal APIs, but at least you won't have to modify JAXX itself.
Future directions
The Future directions page lists planned JAXX functionality that hasn't been implemented yet. Unlike the Related projects page, I have every intention of implementing these projects, so eventually they should all get done.
If you would like to contribute by implementing one of these projects, that's fantastic, but first make sure you coordinate with the JAXX team.
Click on ads you find interesting
I'm attempting to recoup at least a small fraction of JAXX's development and hosting cost with advertising. If you happen to notice an ad that interests you, clicking on it will help finance JAXX.
